From December 25, 2023, to January 1, 2024, the National Taiwan University of Arts (NTUA) Wind Ensemble of Music Department was invited to participate in the 2023 Hong Kong International Music Festival, and the event has gone successfully. Led by Prof. Ti Huang, Head of the Music Department, 45 students from the Wind Ensemble, along with faculty member Assistant Professor Chuan-An Hou, participated in the trip. The ensemble was conducted by Asst. Prof. Chih-Huan Wu, with Asst. Prof. Tzu-Yang Chou as the trombone soloist.
Guest and special concerts were held at Pui Ching Primary School in Hong Kong on December 26 and December 29. On December 31, the ensemble took part in the New Year's Eve parade in Tsim Sha Tsui, performing in the New Year's Eve concert at Victoria Harbour alongside Hong Kong and Japanese wind ensembles.
The performance of the NTUA students and faculty received unanimous praise from the Hong Kong side, achieving fruitful results and enhancing the university’s good reputation. This experience also facilitated the NTUA in establishing international connections, looking forward to future opportunities.
