The highly anticipated Summer Olympics of this year will take place in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11. Taiwan has been invited to participate in the newly organized "Cultural Olympiad" (Olympiade Culturelle) by setting up a Taiwan Pavilion, competing alongside more than 10 countries including France, the Czech Republic, Brazil, and Canada, to showcase Taiwan's diverse values and cultural characteristics.
The Taiwan Pavilion at the Paris Cultural Olympiad is themed "Voice of Freedom," "Island Elegance," "Cultural Exchanges Between" as well as "Taiwan and France" and will feature performances by 22 groups comprising over 120 individuals. From July 27 to August 10, nearly 60 programs including music, newly adapted traditional operas, dance, and DJ performances will be presented in the park.
The selected teams and members linking to GITPA include "3peoplemusic" supported by current PhD student Chung Jen, "Eye Catching Circus" supported by graduate student Yi-Yun Lan, "Les Petites Choses Production" supported by incoming graduate student Yu-Hsun Pan, "A Root" supported by outstanding alumnus Jipo Yang, "Our Theatre" supported by outstanding alumni Hsin Chao, Polo Chen, and graduate student Bo-Yuan Hsu, and "Sam-Seng-Hiàn-Gē" supported by adjunct faculty Blaire Ko and Cheng Ko-Chu.
