    The College of Fine Arts at the core the graphic arts, the Constructivism theoretical study and creative is our objectives.We focus on the traditional spirit with modern trends of integrating the essence the ancient the the academic, to cultivate the quality of the art theory of creative talent.

    The college contains the Department of Fine Arts, the Department of Painting and Calligraphy Arts, the Department of Sculpture, Department of Architecture Art Preservation,each department has both undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition, the Department of Fine Arts and Department of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting have undergraduate programs (evenings), the Department of Painting and Calligraphy Arts have M.A. Program.

    With the advance of science and technology, in the academic and artistic fields, we can't still outside on the pulse of society, in addition to pursue new knowledge of traditional values and innovation, the team of the Academy of Fine Arts will fulfill social services in art, in order to enhance the artistic conservation, to create a high-quality cultural and artistic temperament.

    In the future, as well as to enhance the quality of research and teaching connotation, more active integration of teaching resources, research funding and foreign strive to Wushi each student to obtain adequate teaching resources. Hope for the future to fight for better domestic and foreign teachers, in order to attract high-quality students, addition to existing resources in comprehensive evaluation of the period can increase teaching and research space, and with the schools near the overall development of the long-range plan to achieve academic quality as the goal towards the whole person, the internationalization of the University forward.

  • The College of Design

    The college of design includes three departments for both undergraduate and graduate programs, which are the Department of Visual Communication Design, the Department of Crafts and Design, and the Department of Multimedia and Animation Arts, and a Graduate School of Creative Industrial Design which offers doctoral degree program.

    Our college is the only one among universities of arts in Taiwan combining the practice-model and the research-model features with a complete educational system for arts and design.The academic excellence of our college has attracted some of the best teachers and students around the world to learn and research together. Additionally, we strive to connect and reinforce the exchanges between academic, research, industrial fields as well as policies, accumulating the accomplishment of teaching and research of a variety of disciplines, such as fine arts, design, science, management, information technology, etc. Thus, our college has gained a solid foundation for interdisciplinary and integrative studies.

    Our college keeps the principles that teaching and researching should be regarded as equally important and that we should help students develop their virtue in order to cohere to our university’s motto “Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.” With our long traditions and professions in the fine arts field, keeping the concept of “humanity-centeredness for the base, humanities for the body of concept, and creativity for the application of expressions,” we aim to train our students to become professional designers who possess humanity, sense, and sensibility.

  • The College of Communications

    The College of Communications includes the Department of Graphic Communication Arts, the Department of Radio and Television, the Motion Picture Department, the Graduate School of Applied Media Arts and the Digital Media Center.The College of Communications is a combination of the arts, communication media and technology. Compared with the other communications colleges in other universities in Taiwan, our college emphasizes artistic expression in course content, and integrates other facets of society such as humanism and information.

    Technology and art is directly combined in our college. Motion picture, printing, photography, broadcasting, and television programming are all art creations founded on a good command of technological tools. The establishment of the Graduate School of Applied Media Arts was the direct fruit of such an approach, as the Graduate School of Applied Media Arts became the first graduate school in Taiwan to combine art aesthetics and the production of motion pictures and television programs.
    Students are educated in small groups in the College of Communications. We particularly emphasize interaction between teachers and students and stress the importance of maintaining a free and open study culture.
    We also emphasize both theory and practice. Compared with other universities, we tend to provide students with more courses which involve practical training. By doing so, students have a chance to use some of the theory they learn in practical situations.

  • The College of Performing Arts

    The College of Performing Arts consists of the Department of Music, Department of Chinese Music, Department of Dance,Department of Applied Drama and Theatre, and The Graduate Institute of Transdisciplinary Performing Arts.

    Based on theoretical studies in performing arts, we uphold the equipment of both virtue and talents; emphasize the pursuit of truth, goodness and aesthetic understanding. Not only do we fully develop the fundamental characteristics of a range of professional areas in drama, music, traditional Chinese music and dances, we also intensify creativity demonstrated through inter-disciplinary collaborations, nurturing of international perspective,and recruitment of outstanding faculty. Ultimately, we aim at fostering contemporary, expressive performing artists.

    Teaching Objectives:
    一、Based on core studies courses and cultivation of humanities, we foster professionalism, dedication, and teamwork spirit in performing arts talents.
    二、Develop the expertise and skills in performing arts.
    三、In line with the multi-faceted trend of our time, integrate inter-disciplinary usage of media technology in developing performing arts.
    四、Practice our care for our society by cultivating the public understanding and appreciation of aesthetics in performing arts.
    五、Promote the exchanges among teachers and students with the local or foreign performing arts industry, and broadening of international perspective.

  • The College of Humanities

    Our College consists of five teaching units: the General Education Center (GEC), the Teacher Education Center (TEC), the Physical Education Center (PEC), The Graduate School of Art Management and Culture Policy (AMCP), the Graduate School of Arts & Humanities Instruction (AHI).Our College cultivates students to work or teach in art-related fields. With global views and humanistic values, we are in the process of developing an “integrated humanity and arts education.” Such a focus will promote international communication and combine professional art education and multiculturalism.

    Education in the College of Humanities aims to combine arts education and the latest information trends, together with daily life aesthetics, while maintaining a balance between local and international humanities and arts education.

    Our college acts as an integrated platform for artistic creation and research, and supplies teaching resources to the four professional art colleges. Theory courses emphasize both qualitative and quantitative research which helps bridge the gap between the practice of art and art theory.
