See below for details of an international Design Research Symposium to be held at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India, in November.
NID is organising INSIGHT 2018: Design Research Symposium.
The Symposium will be held at the Paldi campus, Ahmedabad on November 1 & 2, 2018 (Thursday and Friday).
INSIGHT 2018 aims to bring together on a common platform, design educators, practitioners, design researchers and advocates of design to reflect upon, discuss and debate what constitutes design research and design epistemology, its multi-faceted nature and forms, research ethics, issues in contemporary design research and its implications for design education and practice. The symposium seeks to share knowledge and perceptions on design research culture, methodology, framework, practice, collaboration and its dissemination.
The symposium invites entries from design academics, researchers and professionals for its 6 broad conference themes:
Theme 1: Design Research in Academic Practice
Theme 2: Design Research in Professional Practice
Theme 3: Innovations in Design Research Methods
Theme 4: Contemporary and Evolving Models of Design Research
Theme 5: Research as Design and Design as Research
Theme 6: Multidisciplinary Research in Design
Please submit your abstract of 500 words by May 7, 2018.
